Justmylook is a UK-based, online retailer specialising in beauty and personal care products, including haircare, skincare, makeup, supplements, and accessories.
It has become one of the country's fastest-growing beauty platforms since launching in 2015, with millions of customers and a catalogue featuring over 8,000 products from more than 250 brands such as GHD, The Ordinary, Olaplex, CeraVe, and Estée Lauder.

The Challenge
With one of the UK’s fastest-growing beauty catalogues, Justmylook needed an app experience that could handle scale without compromising on speed or design. The brand’s extensive product range, spanning thousands of SKUs, made smooth navigation and effortless product discovery a priority.
At the same time, rising paid media costs were placing pressure on re-marketing strategies. Justmylook wanted to diversify beyond traditional channels, using push notifications to drive direct engagement, offset acquisition spend, and build stronger connections with its loyal customer base.
The Build
We worked side by side with Justmylook to create a continuous journey from website to app, with native mobile performance at the core. The app needed to match the brand’s high-converting website, so we ensured full parity across all pages, including their complex PDP set-up.
For product detail pages, this meant supporting multiple variants through metafields, adding usage guidelines, powering their AI-driven recommendation system, and integrating Yotpo reviews so shoppers could see trusted feedback before buying. Our ability to replicate this setup with complete accuracy was a key reason Justmylook chose Venn Apps over other builders.

Another important driver of conversion was Justmylook’s product cell corner tags. These highlight information such as “viral”, “bestseller” and “sale”, all proven triggers for shoppers. By replicating Shopify metadata in the app, we made sure these signals were visible throughout the experience & updated dynamically, delivering consistency with the website while helping to drive sales.

The end result was an app that looks like Justmylook’s site, but runs at native mobile speed for their best customers.
The impact of that speed is already clear. App customers have 62% larger basket sizes, a direct reflection of faster load times, more products viewed per session, and more opportunities to convert.

Driving Adoption
Performance was only one part of the challenge. Justmylook also wanted a sustainable way to re-engage customers beyond paid ads and email. Push notifications provided a direct and free channel, but success depended on strong adoption at launch.
Together, we built a launch plan to maximise downloads. Justmylook used app-exclusive discounts that applied automatically at checkout, encouraging shoppers to move to the app. They also made use of our custom download banner builder, which turned mobile web visitors into app users.

Offline, the brand ran an in-store activation that brought customers into interactive games before driving them to install the app.

The result was Justmylook generated £1mn in through-app revenue in just 30 days post launch with over 25k downloads.

The app is already delivering results, but its real value lies in the future. It gives Justmylook a platform to keep growing, to keep customers coming back, and to turn one-off buyers into long-term fans.
