The Ask

Fashion.sa had an existing app with an average rating of 2.7 due to performance issues. Additionally, the app was only able to support one language even though their online store supported both Arabic and English. Furthermore, due to Shopify restrictions in the Middle East they weren't able to offer Apple Pay as a payment option.

Mobile apps are extremely popular in the Middle East and on average generate more revenue than websites. However, due to these limitations the Fashion.sa app was only generating around 30% of their total online revenue.

Fashion.sa reached out to us with the task of improving their existing mobile app and making it the focal point of their e-commerce strategy. They also requested a 4-week turnaround in order to get the app up and running in time for Eid.

The Solution

Leveraging our integration with LangShop and our multi-language feature on our CMS dashboard we were able to deliver an app that supports both Arabic and English, providing customers with a personalised shopping experience. The integration with LangShop provides translations for all products and collections and our multi-language feature allows Fashion.sa to edit the content of their app on a language by language basis. Users can then switch between the different languages seamlessly within the app.

Leveraging our partnership with checkout.com we were able to set-up a native integration with Apple Pay that allows users to checkout instantly from the cart page instead of using the Shopify checkout where Apple Pay is not supported due to the local restrictions. Thanks to the streamlining of the checkout process the app now has a 23% higher conversion rate when compared to the website and generates 50% of their online revenue. Additionally, thanks to the upsell carousels that we added to the product pages and the cart, their AOV has increased by 12%.

Thanks to all of these improvements, the new Fashion.sa app now has an average rating of 4.3 and is regularly featured within the top 100 shopping apps in Saudi Arabia.
